Hi there and Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that everyone is taking advantage of the cooler weather and has been able to get out to enjoy the amazing climbing here in Arizona.

This year the Arizona Section of American Alpine Club is hosting it's first annual holiday dinner and I'm happy to invite you all to the party!

We'll be celebrating the first annual Arizona Section Holiday Dinner hosted in Tempe, AZ on Friday, December 6th! This gathering of the tribe will feature a killer BBQ spread by our friends at Boulder's On Broadway, some beers, some entertainment, a raffle with some rockin' prizes, tons of high-fives, and good times all around! This party is for both AAC members and non-members so bring your friends, bring your family!

When: Beers at 6:00pm, Dinner at 6:30pm on Friday, December 6th
Where: Boulders On Broadway, 530 W. Broadway Rd., Tempe, AZ 85282
Cost: $20 covers the full spread plus a drink ticket

Don't miss out on this one, folks! Show some support and come chow down some BBQ! Register by Tuesday, December 3rd.

Is this being promoted anywhere besides here? This is the first I have heard of it and apparently everyone that wants to attend needs to register by tomorrow. Can people decide to attend later in the week if they are not registered?

Is there an agenda for this or just a gathering of climbers to eat and drink?

Hi Red,

Thanks for the note - good questions. I'll try to answer them in order.

1) We've been trying to get the word out in a number of ways. The AAC has sent a number of emails to their member list, we've got flyers up in local gyms, Meetup.com, etc...

2) In order to get a final head count for the catering we need to have folks signed up by Tuesday evening.

3) We'll do drinks and dinner to begin with, the raffle after that, and end with Reel Rock 8 for folks who want to stick around. I also updated the time for dinner from 8pm to 6:30pm - the original post listed an incorrect time.

Hope this answers all the questions. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Really hope that you can join us!

Cheers,
Nate
