Second step of first pitch. Usually the steepest and most strenuous part of route, though plenty of gear.

That's because the route isn't in! You have to wait for some climbs to come into prime conditions for years, if not decades, something lost on rock climbers come ice climbers. I did this first time in the late '80s/early '90s when it was phat.

The "ice" is usually too poor or non-existent to take screws. The rock pro is pretty good, just awkward to reach.
