Just got shut down in the worst way. I took a visiting friend up BoCan climbing, opened my pack, and immediately felt the horror of realizing that I have lost almost twenty Petzl Spirit quickdraws, which there is no way possible of replacing. Checkmate on me.
Lost on 10/22/2013

The last time I had them was on Tuesday, when my friend Cody Scarpella and I were up at Coney Island and then Nip & Tuck. We used his draws and my rope, so I obviously pulled the black, zip-up bag of Spirits out of my pack and left them at one of those crags.

I can't express how important those draws are to me, and I'm faintly hopeful that one of you found them and can get them back to me. Betsy and I have been financially under water for some time now, and there is no possible way that I can replace those draws. I can't shake the knot in my stomach.

If you have them or know someone who picked them up, Please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Climbers, in general, are a good bunch.

I dunno about that. Most "I lost some gear" threads are full of climbers acting like jackals and telling the person that they are a noob and their gear is finders keepers. Though in this instance, your ask for help seems to have been met with a pleasant amount of kindness from folks. I'm glad you got your stuff back though, and it is in fact refreshing to see folks playing nice for a change.

Hey J. Albers, maybe delete your post. It brings the positivity of what happened here down a notch.

KCP, may the road rise up to meet you!

Meh. Tell you what, if you agree to defend the next 10 noobs that post about losing gear from the MP jackals, then sure, I will take it down.

Until then...

Yay for KCP getting his gear back!!! The world is a great and joyous place!!
