Looks like he's got a a massive rack. Does it take that much gear?

Our rack does look large in this pic. It's a wide crack in lots of places. Placed a #4 & 4.5. Found our rack comfortable to have.

It will take large gear but it's perfectly climbable without it. It's nice to have a #4 but def not mandatory. There is smaller pro to find if you don't mind hunting for it a bit longer while wedged in an offwidth. :)

Less is more on durrance due to the chimney and off-width parts. a set of bd nuts 4-13, a set of bd c4 cams from 0.5 to 3, and a couple of long slings is perfect. although not necessary, a bd c4 #4 can be placed on almost every pitch and is nice to have if this is your first route on the tower.
