I was in Red Rocks earlier this week and had no problems. According to the BLM climbing ranger, people were allowed to access any part of the area so long as they stayed off the roads and other infrastructure. However I heard many rumors of LEOs fining people for climbing in "closed areas" even when they did not use any roads to access them and I saw the LEOs were out in full force.
Can anyone speak to the truth of this? If so, how can LEOs justify fining people for accessing public land if they are not on the loop road?
