Are they allowed at the campground?

affirmative

Yep judging by the amount of dog shit in the campground they sure are allowed! And don't bother to clean up after your dog either...

Rolled in late and managed to set my tent up in dog shit, walk through a pile later in the week, and have a dog walk right next to our camp fire and puke up a huge pile of something.

Great ambience, I loooooove dog owners!

If there is shit around camp, it's from irresponsible ass campers who don't watch their dogs. Del has two awsome dogs who know where to shit. General rule is dogs are allowed if they get along with Del and Marte's two.

I wasn't implying it was Del or Marte, they are great hosts.

I just don't like staying at campsites that allow dogs because inevietably campers let their dogs freely wander the campsite then don't notice when and where it does take a shit. Kinda annoying for the rest of us to have to deal with your dogs poop.

But to answer your question its a great campsite just wish people would clean up after themselves.

Only if they are named Annapurna and sleep in your tent. Ideally in your sleeping bag, even if it means you have to sleep outside. Maybe you could just sleep in the front seat of your car so your dog has enough room in the tent.

Agreed choss, folks keep their backs turned on their pets a lot of times. Shit on the shoe is one thing, but shit on your gear can ruin a trip.

Thanks everyone.

I'll clean up after my bitch.

Dogs are fun! I'm a dog person! ...But, leave your dogs at home or in a kennel, or with friends. They are sometimes threatening, they cry a lot when their owners leave them tied up while they're off climbing; if the owners let them run loose, they do poop all over, and sometimes destroy friable soil. And, they just might be injured or killed by falling rock. I have a friend to whom this last scenario occurred. Also, just think how happy the dog will be to see you after you've returned from your day of climbing and he sees you!

Speaking of dogs at the lily pad, does anyone know if Soldier survived his accident this summer? I was there when it happened, pretty gnarly. I thought he was a goner but last I heard they took him to the vet and he was still alive.

ChossClimber, Sorry man about the dog shit. It's awesome when you are weed eating and hit an elephant size pile. I do go around with a shovel midweek but it is hard to keep up on the weekends when the dog biomass exceeds that of the humans ... I guess it is karma for me since my dog goes to the neighbors yard:} But yes Raime, you can bring your dog/s.

Is Soldier the name of one of the dogs that hang around the Doc Howard parking area? I was there in May and 2 dogs hung out with us all day. If so, that is a damn shame, good dogs.

+1 again for one of the best climber only campgrounds in the country! Del and Marte are great hosts, their dogs are awesome and well behaved.
