Description
A great little picnic area with a nice creek and huge trees that give loads of shade. The rock is broken and the climbing is steep with mixed bolts, pitons and gear placements. Many of the routes wander a bit and long draws seem to help a lot. Lots of routes from 5.8+ through 12b. The crag classic is Wienie Roast.
This used to be a Forest Service picnic area administered by a private company. When the old guy stationed at Storm Mountain got tired of cleaning up, the Forest Service decided to remove all evidence of all the picnic facilities, including the old CCC wall that used to line the stream.
While there are far fewer people in the area, be aware that many people hike up to the nice waterfall about 10 minutes upstream. Put your stuff over to the side and away from foot traffic. The routes have all been cleaned but this is BCC, so please don't knock rocks down on a random hiker.
