Carrying big rope

Hi,

I need an advice from experienced people: I have to carry 200 to 300m rope for rappelling (static, 10.5), approaching the descent. Is there any COMFORTABLE backpack for this matter? All rope bags i saw are for 50-70m rope, and they are for protecting rope from dust etc. I need something that won't kill my back, and I don't care about rope protection.
How people carry their ropes?
Thank you in advance!

You should look at rope bags/packs for caving and rescue service. Other than rope access, they're the only ones that use ropes that long.

Urban rescue and rope access will have big bags for long ropes but nothing too special because they can use an elevator/truck/cart/whatever to get the rope where it needs to go.

Cavers and backcountry rescue groups will have better gear for hauling long lines like you're looking to do.

If you are looking for a rope bag, a black diamond super slacker rope bag fits a 200m 10.2mm static line.

A 300m static line? How do you get that with 200m being a full spool.

Why not just flake an entire rope into a standard backpacking pack? Seems like the easiest/most comfy thing to do.

Jeezus. Use a pack mule.

Also be sure to tag a label that says 'Long Rope' at the halfway point so that people don't have to flake the entire thing out to see that.

Ikea bag oughta do it.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
