My wife and I are just getting into climbing and are eager to find some awesome beginner routes that will challenge us. So two questions:

What are some of the best 5.8/5.9 top roping routes?

and

What are some of the best 5.7-5.8 sport routes?

We are in Park City so we're game for Salt Lake or Uintah climbing. Thanks everyone!

Parley's is 20 min from PC. Dogwood gets morning shade...

In the fall, you should take a road-trip to St. George. Climb at green valley gap:

Black Rocks:

or Crawdad Canyon:

These places are FILLED with moderate/easy sport and top-rope climbs. They feature really nice belay spots, easy approaches and in many cases, sport anchors so you don't even need to rig up an anchor at the top which would require cleaning later.

Green valley gap, you can easily top rope the vast majority of the routes, as the top of the crag is really accessible. You can actually drive, right to the top of some of the climbs.

Of course you could go now, but you'd need to climb in the early morning to beat the heat.

Thanks everyone! These are all great.
@BackAlttAgain is the newer wall the one farther up? Does MP have a page for it?

Dogwood sounds cool. Is the water still too high?

Me and my gf are in the same boat as well. There's some stuff to be had at Pete's rock. And that little red rock crag in draper is great for beginning leaders/climbers. Bcc is loaded with super fun sport routes, not much top roping other than dogwood and those environs though. Pure top roping is pretty limited on the wasatch front, quick draws and a lead head open a plethora of opportunities.

I agree with mrock. Red rocks in draper is fun for beginners. Well protected routes all with hike arounds. Good place to start learning to lead, so you're not stuck looking for top ropes.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
