Hey Jon,
It would be great to have you visit.
If you mountain bike or drive down the road, it's less than 5 minutes and your parked by the Cactus kiosk.
By foot from the Yurt, 10 minutes or so.

So far, the Yurt's available all week. Get in touch and let's set it up!

Right on Kirk. Im going to look into rounding up some folks. Im working in Moab for the rest of the week so I wont be available to find people after tomorrow so I'll be in touch with you next Monday!
Thanks,
Jon S.

That is the same dog I met today at North Table mountain. What a great dog!

Kirk, Your place looks awesome! I'm eager to check it out the next time I am back in Colorado.
I really could use a Shelf Road fix these days.
The late season North Shore surfing has been good lately but climbing has been on my mind a lot also.
Cheers to you my old friend,
Olaf

Big Thanks and Props. to Angela, Hannah, Ross, and Chad!
The Yurt now has the most awesome community fire pit in Fremont county!

queen of the firepit
Thanks again all for a great climbing trip.

Shelf rocks!

Yurt will be available again after next Wednesday, May 29.
A quieter, more peaceful alternative to camping at Sand Gulch or The Bank...

Get up early and pull down for 5-6 hours at Cactus in the morning Shade and catch the afternoon shade at the Gym.

Less than five minutes from Cactus Cliff!
Sleep in a bed, climb harder, soak the muscles in a hot tub.

A BIG shout out to all my guests from Memorial Day weekend!
Thanks Hannah and Matt for bringing it on!

Sangres from the Yurt.
Thanks all, again for great times, it was a gas to host a group of eight motivated climbers.

Ran into this three foot Bull Snake right outside the Yurt. We haven't seen any mice or rattlesnakes there all season!

Kirk, even though this message is coming a full month late, we wanted to thank you for the hospitality at your yurt! We had an amazing time. It was great to climb with you and we will both spread the word and visit again! Somehow not a single person in our group got a picture of the yurt :( Here are a couple, though.

Able. Guardian of the rope.

Kitchen with the best view in the world!

Obligatory sunset pic from the Yurt!

PS. Austin and I saw a 3.5 foot snake just like that on the old road on our way out. Gorgeous!

Carin! Great to hear from you; that was a fun trip for sure.
Thanks for the photos. I really like the shot of Abel, rope guardian indeed.

The road up to Cactus cliff has washed out! Ten inches of rain fell all at once last Thursday night and flash flooding wiped out several dirt roads in the area. Shelf road from Cripple Creek through to Cañon City is reported to be clear and open.

What's left of the Cactus Cliff road, above the Shelf Road BLM gate.

Here's another shot of the damage, looking up the road...

Whoa! Was this the access for your yurt? Can you still access it? That's some serious washout.

Yup those shots are of the main access road to the Yurt. We'll still be able to walk in until the road is repaired.

The back road is no better.

Washed out back way in.

I'd love to rent your yurt the last weekend in September. What's the best way to reserve it?

Thanks,
jessie
