West Coast C4 Reslinging Done Right?

Hey People,

I just bought a lot of BD cams and am looking to have them reslung. Some of them are the new C4s with the thumb loop, and I know BD has a special way of slinging them to avoid kinking the loop.

I was wondering if there's any shops on the West Coast from Northern California and on up to Oregon and Washington that can do that style of sling. I'm on a road trip right now heading North (from the Bay Area) and would like to get it done as soon as possible, and if I can get like a day turnaround that would be lovely too.

Try giving Metolius a ring (541-382-7585). They are located in Bend, OR and can do nylon or dyneema...not sure on their turn around time tho.

Yates does reslinging as well. I asked a similar question on Supertopo a while back and got some good responses. You may want to search out that thread.

mountaintools does the C3/4's properly (reinforced loop). I have had a good experience with them. Fast turn around and quality work. They are in Carmel, CA. mtntools.com/cat/rclimb/cam…

Their service is quite good. They will probably tell you two weeks but will turn them around much quicker in my experience.

Don't really have time to send them in, and I'm on the road so I don't really have a set address to receive them back at so I'm looking for a place I can drop them off and pick them up as soon as possible. Mountain Tools seems like a descent option (not too far south from the bay), and I'll see if I can find that thread on SuperTopo since something a little more northward could be more convenient.

You could have them send the return package as hold for pickup at a locally shipping store like ups. I remember there being a comments section on the mtntools order form that allows you to customize it. I used this when I was about to go on a climbing trip a wanted to make sure I received the cams where ever I was when they finished.
