I'm on my way via greyhound to Crested Butte in July and I was wondering if there's a low key place to bivy for a night within walking distance of town. I'm getting in late and leaving early.

Butte is so dope in July... bring your mountain bike!

I can't afford a mountain bike which is why I am taking the bus and hiking over several mountains to get to a close friend's wedding. I just need to find a very inexpensive and safe place to sleep in Gunnison for 10 hours. Thanks for your help.

Google maps gave me these coordinates:

38.549114,-106.914749

38.538763,-106.905518

38.531162,-106.950891

I'm not sure where the bus drops off but these are all pretty easy walking from anywhere in town. Might have to stay a little on the dl with them but I would not worry about crashing out at any of these spots for a few hours.

If you don't mind spending a little bit of cash, you could do the Wanderlust Hostel in town. Great little place.

Camp at sky land bouldering area, it's secluded in the aspens and not too busy.
