Best place to resole?

In my opinion nobody is better than Steve Komito in Estes Park. He's been doing it longer than anyone. I've never had a bad experience and i've had climbing shoes and hiking/mountaineering resoled by him for 30 years.

Another vote for Ramuta. He's been doing my shoes for close to a decade now. Awesome work.

Simon and Tony at the Rubber Room in Bishop, CA will hook it up. They don't mess around.

I've gone with Dave Page and the Rubber Room a couple of times and was satisfied. But, I will say that the folks over at Ramutas ( ramutasresoles.com) have done the best so far for me. I've converted quite a few friends with these guys.

sorry, man. I did a search first and didn't come up with anything worthwhile.

So pretty much any shop is good and each has their horror stories. I tought this would've been like ski boot fitting, theres only a couple people in the east coast id recommend.

Go with Barry's Resoles for the best resole.

I just took my (3 pairs) of shoes to a new resoler - cascade cobbler in washington (mazama), hoping to go more local, and i had a horrible experience. i guess you get what you pay for - in this case, tho, i don't even think i got that. honestly i think they should pay me for ruining my shoes! i'm not kidding. my nice edgey pointy sport climbing shoes are now rounder than mythos, and my mythos are rounder than they were before the resole. how can anyone mess them up so much in one go?? argh!! there goes a lot of $$ down the drain.

unhappy climber

but i've never had a bad experience with barry. it just takes a while and is pricier than the rest.

I'm probably not in a position to call them "excellent", as i've only had my shoes resoled a few times, but a local resole business called Bend Resole here in Bend, Oregon defiantly did what i would call a good job. bendresole.com/ is the website
