I recently took a new job that will require 2-3 days a week of traveling. My territory includes Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennesee, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Currently I live and climb in Oklahoma, mostly trad at The Wichita Mountains and sport in Arkansas at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. Just looking for some advice on some places I should hit in the upcoming months. Most weeks I can be done working on Thursday and stay wherever I am to climb all weekend. Thanks.

First, you can pretty much write off Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi. For guidebooks, I'd recommend these three for starters: Selected Climbs in North Carolina Dixie Cragger's Atlas - Tennessee Dixie Cragger's Atlas - Georgia & Alabama There's so much good climbing in those 4 states alone that it's kind of hard to know where to start. You might also want to consider the Red River Gorge in KY, and the New River Gorge and Seneca Rocks in WV.

It's bouldering season! Rocktown in Georgia. Rumbling bald in NC. Stone Fort in TN. Have fun during your travels. Great rock all over the SE.

I made two week long trips back to my homeland in the south east in the past two months. I've got at least one more coming up before the temps start to rise. Worth every moment! Alos, HP40 in Alabama is my favorite, but it's a specific style that some do not like.

Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina? Also think about acquiring a whitewater kayak and the skills to drive it. When it's too rainy or too hot to climb, you'll have something to do.
