This is the west face of the Briscoe County Boulder. Severely undercut and unfortunately lacking the pockets and climbable features that characterize much of the sandstone conglomerate of Texas Canyon. And the other bad news is the clusters of poison oak surrounding the boulder.

It appears the wind event of March 22, 2013 toppled the dead snag, in the center of the photo, that was charred in the October 21, 2007 Buckweed Fire. The fire, started by a 10 year old, playing with matches, burned 38,000 acres.
