Suggestion: include Season and Approach Time in Advanced Search: Route Finder

I like the Route Finder a lot, and I think it could be even better. In addition to searching by Location, Type, Quality, and Pitches, I'd like to be able to search by Season and by Approach Time. That means these two properties would also need to be included in Area Properties. Sometimes I do see Season included in an area's properties, but most of the time these two things are just buried in the text description of an area. I think it would be really handy to make these them standardized and searchable instead.

That sounds like a good idea, i'd like to see that too. Which is more useful though, approach distance or approach time? I think times, but distance can be provided with more precision. Would season be prime season or climbable seasons?

I think part of the problem with making this data searchable is that it is often more subjective than other information. Height, for example, is an absolute, as is location, and to some extent difficulty (although our judgement of it is subjective). This becomes especially challenging when you factor in what is considered in the approach, -where are you approaching from, who is doing the approaching?

One thought I had as to a solution would be to make this another piece of user added consensus, much like the "**** quality". It may need to be simplified into a categorical system, in relation to the area only. I.E. a JT "5" may be shorter than a RMNP "2".

Additionally, It would be nice to search by a set range of pitch lengths, instead of just "greater than". Sometimes I want to only see short routes (especially relevant when searching Vegas).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
