The Schoolroom Wall as seen from The Bonneville Shoreline Trail on Malan’s Peak. Approach as follows:

The Southern area is best reached by climbing the large talus slope which is reached from 27th street in Ogden. From 27th Street head toward “Castle Rock”, a large boulder at the base of the talus that some genius has dumped white paint on (probably a result of the questionable breeding practices in this state). The best way to reach Castle Rock is to follow the Taylor canyon trail, just after it crosses the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, turn left on a faint path into the scrub oak. About 50 yards before Castle Rock turn right on a steep trail that leads to the Upper Boulder field and the "Around the World Boulder". Head to the NW corner of the Upper Boulderfield where a faint trail leads through a short band of scrub oak and onto the large talus field. Head up the talus, veering left as you ascend to the Utahnics Wall, a smooth 50 foot wall with a sharp arete and right facing dihedral on its left side. To reach the routes on the upper tier, either climb one of the Utahnics routes, or scrmble up 3rd class ledges just below the route “Hype Dependant”. Once the upper tier is gained, hike 50’ north to the base of Tree Crack. From this point hiking North, you will encounter the Schoolroom Wall, The Great Flake, The 5.10 Slab, The Tangerine, and eventually (a quarter mile later) The Alcove.
