anchor help in Boulder?

OK, so I have an embarrassing problem....I keep declining invites to go climbing outdoors, because, well, I don't know how to create an anchor if I lead and I don't know how to switch the anchor to the fixed gear if I follow. All of my climbing buddies are either newbies like me, or so experienced that they'd rather sandwich me in the middle of the climb than teach me the basics.

So, I need some help! Will you teach me about anchors in exchange for some beer or a home cooked meal? This is the best time to get outside, and I want to enjoy it!

Hi, I'm Strappo. Have lived and climbed around Boulder for years and would be psyched to teach you some stuff about setting anchors. My weekend is free so call 303 506 6836.
Cheers, Strappo

This person wants to learn, too. Maybe the two of you could get together. :)

Hey. Rocks. You, er…you live in Boulder, right?

Climbing anchors. Betcha there’s a few folks who know ‘bout that stuff in your town. I bet you, you could just ask around, the folks at any climbing shops. Or the ratty hangdogs barkin’ ‘round the crags. Or any oil jockey at any Jiffy Lube. Or that toothless dumpy tranny bitch who eats out back of the dumpster at Denny’s on Baseline.

Fact is, Rocks, in Boulder, you could walk out to any random park, under any random tree, at 3 a.m., sauced out of your skull, blind fold tight, dead cat swinging over your head, and still manage to hit thirty-seven-teen savvy climber folks who could wax endlessly the vagaries, the subtleties, and all the fun, fine minutia of quality anchor engineering. Some of them might even not be wearing prAna. Really.

In Louisville you could hit a cool dozen.

All you gots to do is, you know, come outside. Where plastic is a thing you put water in.

Rad, I know. But give it a try sometime…

I'm confused. Are you talking about building trad anchors or some kind of multi-pitch sport? If it is trad, you don't need to switch it to fixed gear, you just remove it and start climbing...

What would you like to learn? How to equalize a cordellette, tie in directly with rope? How to clean a sport anchor?

I'm busy until next Thursday, but after that I'm always happy to run out and climb something and build some anchors... especially if there is beer involved ;)
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
