Hello America, I'm a UK climber and I'm doing a little research.

Is there any Crags in the USA where Chalk is banned, or where tick marks and chalking have affected access or caused a ban by local land owners?

Arches National Park prohibits white chalk. I can't think of any specific examples of chalk use causing loss of access, but I'm sure someone will chime in on that. I do know many areas in the States that conduct regular chalk cleanups to reduce the visual impact. An idea may be to contact the Access Fund. They would have good information on this.

So for those places that allow colored chalk only what chalk do you use and where do you get it. I have been looking to purchase colored chalk for some time but am unable to locate any.

I use an Eco-ball whenever I'm outside.

North shore of Lake Superior, or atleast the last time I checked.

Sometimes I wonder if it is for a specific reason, or just a fanatical religious dogma.dogma that is outdated, but no one has the balls to ask why.

Chalk has its place, at the gym.

I think a rock named monk rock in AZ got closed due to chalk. Someone fact chech me on that though. Had a sweet aid line on it that went out a awesome roof. Think dan-o put it up.

I hate the way eco balls feel. I live by GOG and i either use colored chalk or dump some of the red sand in my bag if i dont have any when climbing there (more often than not)... Unless i'm on kidergaten rock.

I was in Hueco and there was a chalk clean up day. All the scrubbing and water didn't clean a whole lot off. Then after we were done cleaning everybody started climbing and the holds were just as chalky again.
