I know there is Bouldering along the Niagara Escarpment outside Buffalo, but you'll need a passport. Down near the PA/NY border is some climbing, otherwise you are driving all the way to Little Falls for a crag. (I'm from Syracuse so we do that most often)
welcome to the climbing desert. Nothing to be had for atleast 2.5 hours. The stuff in ontario is polished limestone, not great by any means. If you want our group is always headed somewhere, just this past weekend we went to southern dacks, the next closests and probably way better than little falls.
The good news is there is can be climbable ice in the Finger Lakes in the winter.
Paul, what is the realistic driving and approach time difference between the southern most climbing area in the 'dacks vs Little Falls. I haven't actually tried any of the new stuff being developed.
