What Do You Do?!?

I manage affordable housing, mostly government compliance and dealing with tenants. Let me tell you, working in an air conditioned office in the desert heat keeps my stoke at an all time high!

As for the rest of you;

Thanks, this has actually been quite helpful (except for someone ^^ who didn't get his diaper changed this morning ..not you MIYG).

Puts things into percpective for me. Clean air vs. Recycled?? Hmmm.
Staying in shape Vs. ....not.

I dunno though...still sick of this manual labor shit.

I think I need to go back to school!

Boy I dunno man. I am about a week away from finishing my Ph.D in atmospheric physics and I am betting that all it will get me is a job at your local coffee shop. What can I say, Congress has been on a real kick the last few years trying to cut funding for all things climate related. I did learn how to make one mean espresso while completing my degree though, so perhaps I was preparing myself for my future job after all!!

I actually reread your original post, Gorilla. Duh-oh! I apologize. You actually had a legit question in there amidst the standard bullshit about why we have so much time on here.

Yeah, the manual labor routine sucks. I did that out of college for a while, sometimes out in the weather. Good luck finding a new gig. It will come along I'm sure.

My job consists of basically masking my contempt for the assholes in charge, and, at least once a day, retiring to the men's room so I can jerk off while I fantasize about a life that doesn't so closely resemble Hell.

hey, no worries man.
You're right though, this place is starting to get a little stale.
It sucks though, cuz it used to be so fresh.

....sorry bout my gay porn joke.....but hey, you DID ask for more humor.
I thought it was kinda funny :-)

waddda YOU do anyway?

I work at a computer most of the day. Ha ha ha. That's it.

Didn't even get the gay pron joke. Must reread that one. I'm reading my instruction manual for my recently acquired sequencer/sampler. It would just be easier to play it here.

So there are actually some good threads going on. There always are, even when it seems super boring on a forum. The Attitude Adjustment thread is good. Give it a read.

Used to be in metal fabrication and project management in entertainment (theater, opera, tv and corporate at various times), now I'm being a bum till I start grad school for architecture.

I am trading on my feet all day doing fabrication for a desk job (eventually). I'm pretty thrilled about it. Working on your feet on a bare concrete floor gets pretty miserable after a while. Other things I won't miss include respirators and the permanent layer of grease on my hands.

I have a high paying job posting on MP. I haven't been working very hard lately. Let me pinch myself and see if I wake up.

I did own 2 small businesses. The first was a personal training business mostly working out small groups of women on the beach in the early morning and evenings in the afternoons I did therapy on disabled people mostly spinal cord injuries to help them remain functional in thier own homes. My second business was teaching science through hands on experiments to children. Both my businesses took a hard hit during the last few years. Which is why I decided to add some adventure to my life and move to the philippines where I am unemployed but trying to start another business.

Get a job in the medical field, nursing, resp care, etc. Work in AC all day and around HOT CHICKS, lots of'em too. 3 days a week and four to climb, not a bad gig.

Software engineer, and my company doesn't really care about 'time wasting' as long as you deliver. Code doesn't compile instantly...

It also doesn't hurt when your boss and your bosses boss both climb.

Contractor. Work when I want, come home post up, eat lunch go back to work. Hard work mostly remodeling and when I am done and whatever I have done looks great I love what I do. Plus it keeps me in shape.

Medical field. I get to be driven around, all day and night, to people that call for help. It is not as glamorous as it looks on tv. I use my smartphone a lot to read MP anywhere. It's great.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
