Welcome to Mountain Project (you joined today). You're first question is: Where in the whole world should I climb? Naw, I'm not biting...

Ironically, that'd put him in Thailand, which is in the East. How does that work?

It depends on whatcha want. Start local and travel east. There is fantastic climbing in every area in the U.S. Check out Canada. Then off to Spain, France, Germany, Thailand, China, Japan. It all depends on your cup of tea. Hell, hit up Pakistan if you want to endure some mountainous expedition even. Good luck with your travels and, first things last, yurr gunna die!

Have you been to Tahquitz, Yosemite, IC, Gunks, J-Tree, The High Sierra? (sorry East Coast I don't know many places over there) If you have not been to any of those, start there. Meet people talk to them about their favorite spots/climbs and then go to there. Dirt bag at it's best. Or do like me and look at pictures of places online.

With all those purdy Simon Carter down under photos I've been drooling over for years - I'd go to Australia!

Climbing grade and sport/traditional/bouldering preferences would have a big impact on the answer to that question.
