Tristan's excellent photo of Patty's ridge shows a good descent route. To the left of the ridge is a scree field filled with yellow-orange rock. This is the descent route we took.
As you pass the summit of the ridge (nice rock) look down (CLIMBER'S LEFT) to this scree field, and note that a gully reaches it from the ridge crest. Keep climbing along the ridge until you see the head of this gully on the CLIMBER'S LEFT heading down through some vegetation. Descend the gully taking great care not to drop loose rock on your partner(s). Downclimbing is probably safer than rapelling due to the loose rock. The down climbing was pretty easy, even for two crusty old men.
