Man, it was blowing consistently at around 4PM today outside today. Did anyone else experience these demon winds? Any problems climbing?

shoveling mulch in my dad's backyard was sure a pain in the ass.

Nearly blown off a ledge while climbing. Gusts up to 50 mph in Golden Gate State Park today.

Weird, was up around Castle Rock in Bocan and the wind was pretty much a pleasant breeze.
Not sure if it was from the fire up N. but definitely was getting a whiff of smoke from somewhere.

My son had 2 soccer games today in winds of 35-45 with gusts to 60. Gotta love New Mexico.

We were also up above Castle Rock, breezy until about 7pm, then it got pretty gusty!

Here's a cool art project that uses NWS wind data to create.

Animated Wind Map

One thing I noticed is that the fine dust the wind blew made for some sore eyes and blurry vision in the morning. Glad I don't live in an actual desert.

We were at the Watermark and the Lower Tier of Avalon all day yesterday and didn't have any wind whatsoever. It was an awesome day to be out there. But on the drive back to Denver and throughout the evening it was super strong...

We had those crazy winds here in Vegas lately- it blew tons of plums off our tree. It's damn hard work picking those suckers up before they stain the cement, and before the insects get to them. Who has time to climb when that happens, sheesh! ; )

Crazy windy in Montrose and West slope yesterday. 50mph gusts in the Vestal basin as well, had to bail to tree line.

We were getting blown every which way at the first belay on Lost In Space. Figured it would only get worse once we came around the arete so went bouldering instead. Some nice boulder problems at there.

Estes was gnarly Saturday night and Sunday morning. Tents getting knocked over etc. No sleep in the tent that night..

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
