Transportation Ideas?: Devils Tower to Airport

I'm planning a trip to Devils Tower (from NC) at the beginning of July. My crew will be staying longer than I can. I am trying to figure out transportation from Devils Tower back to Rapid City airport on July 3.
Any locals have suggestions for how I could reasonably get to the airport? Train? Bus? Local heading that way? Suggestions?

I don't think that Frank Saunder's Bed and Breakfast outfit at DT offers any shuttle service themselves but maybe you could e-mail them and ask for suggestions from them.

Just a heads up... The Tower can be extremely hot in July. If you plan on climbing routes in the sun, you should have a backup plan. I remember almost puking from dehydration after just one pitch.

Thanks for the suggestions. Do you know approximately how far it is from DT>Rapid City Airport? I'm guessing like 2-3 hours.

Is there a closer airport?

Thanks Guy. I have heard about the heat and will make plans to avoid it. We are planning to start in the Black Hills and work our way towards DT but will be weather flexible. We are trying to hit DT immediately after the closure.

It's 1.5 hour drive between RC and DT. Hulet, Sundance, and Moorcroft WY all may have a small airport. Gillette WY does for sure and is closer then RC. There are alot of climbers from RC area that drive to DT for the weekend but July 3d is a Tuesday and BEFORE the 4th (a holiday) so you may have a tough time hooking up for a ride back to RC from DT.
