Denali in 2012

I was on Denali in 2007 to Medical Camp and then the weather changed. I'm ready to do it again. Train this year together, climb next year May/June. Send me an email if this is on your to do list.

Hello all, I'm down for Denali mid May/early June 2012. ddp_anderson@yahoo.com. I was on a 7 day expedition on Rainier this past winter and I'm feeling a bigger challenge. Lets do it!

My daughter and I tried the West Buttress last year, and spent three days and two nights at high camp before descending. The condition of both daughter and mountain dictated this retreat. I'd like to give it another try. Based on our experience last year, I'd like to be on the mountain by the last week of May. We drove to Alaska, which had certain advantages, and I am disposed to driving again. I can ski or snowshoe. I've got a partner here in Tucson who was a climbing ranger on Rainier, but his schedule is uncertain for next summer. I'd like to have a set plan with at least one other person soon.

I'm interested in going, but, I want to ski it....anyone else interested in that?

I was hoping to use skis to 14,200 and then leave those at medical camp.

Definitely looking to ski from the summit and other options (i.e. Rescue gulleys, Messner, etc)

Base1361, you think a guy from Frisco and park city can't handle skiing the west butt? You think that is extreme? Seems like you're projecting your own inadequacy.

I'm Erik Laan from the Netherlands, 24 years old, and climbing pretty often somewhere around the world. In 2012 I want to climb Denali, but I'm still looking for climbing parters. I'm also absolutely in for skiing! In the beginning of this year I climb Aconcagua (solo and without mules, normal route up, polish traverse down).
I don't know if there are already some people forming groups, but I'm really interested and I'm flexible in time.

I already got a permit from May 24th thru June 17th 2012 and now partner is not feeling up for it. I'm despeerately looking for at least one more partner.

I'm a very strong climber. I climbed Aconcagua solo and unsupported in 2010. I climbed Rainier, Whitney, St. Helens, Mt. Washington and Kathadia in Winter. I have been winter backpacking for over 10 years. I'm passionate about mountaineering and will be an asset to any expedition.

Last year I did the same as you did on aconcagua, unsupporting, solo, and in 6 days up and down. So I know what you're able to.
