Wow, what a journey it has been these past seven months... After four rounds of high-dose chemotherapy, and just 45 days after receiving an allogenic stem-cell / bone-marrow transplant, I got back on the rock for the first time today. In doing so, I feel as though I've begun a new chapter in my life: life after cancer! Not really supposed to climb for the first 100 days post transplant, but hey - FUCK THAT SHIT. I can't even begin to describe how weak I feel, and I know it'll take me a long time to get back to routes like Birds of Fire, but I'll get there sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the kind words, encouragement, and support - Cheers,

Kevin L.

Way to go Kevin! But am I mistaken, did you actually pull down in Red Rock Canyon Open Space? You must have run out of gas for the car and had no other viable options. Get thee to good rock ASAP.

Way to go Kevin; glad to see you are doing great! Like Stich said; how is the 1st day back on the rock at RROS? But I guess it has to be somewhere. Glad you are getting back out.

Thanks everyone. I'm stuck in the south metro area for another couple weeks of observation, and I've always wanted to check out the Garden of the Gods and RROS, and so far I couldn't be happier. RROS is a great resource for you Springs climbers, and a great place for someone who is as weak as I am right now - slabby, bolted, lots of moderates, super short approach... The rocks not exactly that good Dakota stuff I'm used to up in the Fort (Gill circuit at Horsetooth) but it's got character. Still, there's no place like home! Can't wait to get back to that river polished granite up the Poudre : )

RROS is its own kind of fun for sure. I prefer Grey Rock at GOG to most of the formations out there.

I'll check it out, thanks Stich!
