Sunny Valley Moderates?

I'm looking to take a friend to the Yosemite for a day of moderate climbing, but not sure what gets enough sun to be comfortable when its 45 degrees out. I was thinking After 6, munginella, or other stuff in the 5 open books area. Anything between 5.6-5.8 would be awesome! We wouldn't mind hiking a bit to get to a route either. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Anything on the north side of the Valley will be warm enough if the sun is out. It's really just a matter of what's dry or not (right now everything is dry, btw, but there's a chance of snow in the forecast for next week).

As for route recommendations, how about Nurdle to Pat Pinnacle. It's a fun, short multi-pitch adventure to a nice summit. It does have a section of old-school 5.7 offwidth on it however. P1 of Nurdle is also really good just on it's own. Also a bit further down the cliff is Golden Needles which is pretty mellow 5.8 with lots of handjamming.

The first pitch of After Six and first pitch of Nutcracker tend to be more wet/cold than the upper pitches - so don't get disheartened by the cold start! Sweet intro to valley climbing.

Chris, yeah, what you said (Commitment is superb) and then continue on up Selaginella for the hike down the Lower Yosemite Falls trail...very nice!

Matthias, thanks for the Commitment to Selaginella linkup idea. Super fun climbing all the way to the top and with temps in the upper 60's last weekend this was a blast! Looks like the weather has finally started blowing in, but I'll give some of the other recommendations a go soon.

Anything at Knob Hill, Five and Dime Cliff, The Grack (before 11 AM), and the upper parts of the pitches at Church Bowl.

Looks like winter finally hit that place...
