I am the same way. I am a cheap bastard, I never buy gear any more than 20% off. I just make enough to spend full price.
So my bragging experience...
One of the gear shops here locally just got bought out and moved up town so the new owner was selling the out the gear for less stuff to move later. so I picked up a No. 4 and 6 metelios master cam and No 4 TCU for 72 bucks for the three. So um that 40% off, yeah buddy!

Oh and to the OP

get what you like, I like to carry sized of each mteloius and BD cams. Bd work really well is some placements and forthe narrower I like metolius cams.... but its really personal pref IMHO

We got caught in a torrential downpour this past summer. On the route were a few camalots, and a few metolius cams. Both of which became creaky, and squeeky. But still usable, and safe. I simply lubed them both back up with metolius cam lube, and was good to go.

Get a full set of BD C4s from 0.3 to 3. No need to reinvent the wheel, they're the best cams on the market. Then start complementing with other brands. I like having doubles for .3, .5 and .75 in the Gunks. My cams of choice to complement C4s are C3s and Aliens for smaller cams and DMM Dragons for bigger sizes.

Thanks Coreylee and Greg G. I started to get paranoid about bringing my mastercams into the alpine.

I may have to take advantage of that moosejaw offer also...

Debatable.

Dragons aren't really complementary to C4s, more like doubles.

I've only had them freeze up from bad weather twice (the event from my earlier post included) i dont carry them in alpine for that very reason . I carry tricams in alpine. (Go ahead tricam haters tear into me, but they are relatively cheap to bail on and lightweight. Perfect alpine gear)

The deal has ended. I think you can still order with triple rewards points - which amounts to 30% off, not bad at all. But the one I mentioned ended yesterday.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
