Tons of new features we're excited for you to try:

  • Home page buttons are laid out better (Search, Get More Areas, etc)
  • Personal Page, log in to your account and sync your personal data
  • New pages: My Ticks, My Star Ratings, My To Do's
  • Routes pages allow you to view and create your ticks, star ratings, and to do's offline, then sync them later
  • Button to download all high-res photos for an area or route with one click
  • Bookmarks let you keep favorite areas and routes easily accessible

Please only respond if you're a beta tester using this latest version of the app.

1st impression - Love it! The bookmark button is a great idea, as is the download all hi-res photos button! The personal page is a nice touch as well. I did get an error message when I tried to open the "My Star Ratings" for the first time, it said that it had failed to sync but after I waited a few minutes it opened up fine. Not a big deal at all I think it might have just been caused by an uncompleted area download that was in que at the time...

Holy wow! This is sweet! Just downloaded it, tried adding a tick and todo, synced it, and it popped right up when I refreshed the web browser on my computer, AWESOME! I also see that you can click on other areas in the google map and go to them, also awesome! The only thing I noticed in the description was that it says you can get directions (I'm assuming using the map), and I haven't been able to figure that out yet . . . Otherwise I think you just made a great app spectacular with all the new functions!

Well done! I love it! only suggestion would be to make the text on the dark background a different color so you can read it easier.

This app just keeps getting better! I like the new features, in particular the "download all photos" feature. Navigation is also getting easier. I've not run into any glitches or bugs in the app so far, it seems very stable.

I guess the only thing I'd add at this point is a "home" button on every page (it's already on most of them now).

Ok I took it out to the crag today. No major operating bugs, and it's fun to be able to tick climbs as I do them.

One small bug, the ticks in the "me & this route" page cut off the text once synced and there is no way to expand it. Not a huge deal.

Suggestion: it would be nice to be able to delete ticks, & especially todos. Once I tick something I take it off my todo list. Currently there does not seem to be a way to do it.

Just a couple minor details. Loving the app!

Finally go a chance to use the new version out in the field yesterday. I didn't have any problems and all of the new features are awesome.

Being able to download high resolution photos, bookmark specific pages and interact with one's profile are all great features. Well done!

I would like to see the personal page include 'My Personal Page' as I use it to log routes not listed on the site. It would also be nice to be presented with the option of downloading all my favorite areas upon first signing in to the app.

Sorting routes alphabetically can result in some of the routes being listed as 'Unsorted'. This feature seems unique to the app. For an example see: Arizona > Mount Lemmon (Santa Catalina Mountains) > Mount Lemmon Highway > Summit Crags > Fortress, The > All Routes.

Once again well done!

Incredible! Absolutely great app! We've been able to use it every week and it has been so incredibly helpful. Having the up to date  pictures at the climb instead of carrying a book around is great!

I was wondering if a few things would be possible:

I just updated all my areas and it dumped the pictures from every one of them. Would it be a possibility for that not to occur? I don't need to have all the pictures that people have posted.
Also, what about maybe being able to  delete photos if we do just download all from a certain area?

I was also wondering if it would be possible to have a "What's new in this area" highlight after updates? Maybe just have a colored asterisks next to the area, route or even picture until the next update or for a couple weeks before the symbol/marker saying its new disappears.

I think it's been suggested before, but what about a "what areas are near me feature". It wouldn't have to get specific, just general areas so you can download them before leaving phone service areas.

Is being able to sort what kind of routes possible? (sport, boulder, etc...)

Once again, the app is absolutely incredible! Thank you so much for the opportunity to be a tester and give suggestions. Greatest app ever!!

+1 on the suggestions to let climbers use the GPS functions in their phone to tag the location of the start of the route (and let admins override / change those tags).

Of course, you have to watch the direction from which you approach a route if you're solely relying on the map/GPS of your phone -- you may walk off the top of the cliff in search of the start of the route. :)

It seems that everytime I update I lose photos. I was climbing today and even though I'd downloaded the photos again, I was prompted that I was out of service and couldn't view them... has anyone else had problems?

Unable to install on iOS 5. Possible reason for delay in approval?

I just downloaded the app, subscribed, and am downloading the Boulder areas currently. I can't wait to use it in the field.

Thanks Mountain Project!!

I just downloaded the version from the App Store and subscribed to data. It looks great. I have one small bug to point out. It looks like some of the characters are being lost in either the download or the on screen presentation (maybe a unicode issue). Check out the "A Temporary Note" section of the New York > Gunks > Trapps Bouldering page here: mountainproject.com/v/trapp… . It looks like it is losing the apostrophes. I do see apostrophes on other pages however. I'm guessing that it is due to the text in question being pasted from MS Word rather than directly entered. I think that they substitute an appropriate single quote character (which points the correct way) rather than the generic one. My guess is that the same will happen with double quotes.

Pasted from Word: “This quoted text probably wouldn’t work properly”

Not pasted from Word: "This quoted text probably wouldn't give you a problem"

Also just downloaded and subscribed to the app. Looks awesome!

One minor request. Can you make it so that we have the option of downloading all the areas in one state with one click rather than having to go ahead and download them all individually? Thanks for all the hard work!
