Round 3: iPhone App - beta feedback for version 1.0 (build 12)
Tons of new features we're excited for you to try:
Please only respond if you're a beta tester using this latest version of the app. |

1st impression - Love it! The bookmark button is a great idea, as is the download all hi-res photos button! The personal page is a nice touch as well. I did get an error message when I tried to open the "My Star Ratings" for the first time, it said that it had failed to sync but after I waited a few minutes it opened up fine. Not a big deal at all I think it might have just been caused by an uncompleted area download that was in que at the time... |
Holy wow! This is sweet! Just downloaded it, tried adding a tick and todo, synced it, and it popped right up when I refreshed the web browser on my computer, AWESOME! I also see that you can click on other areas in the google map and go to them, also awesome! The only thing I noticed in the description was that it says you can get directions (I'm assuming using the map), and I haven't been able to figure that out yet . . . Otherwise I think you just made a great app spectacular with all the new functions! |
Well done! I love it! only suggestion would be to make the text on the dark background a different color so you can read it easier. |
This app just keeps getting better! I like the new features, in particular the "download all photos" feature. Navigation is also getting easier. I've not run into any glitches or bugs in the app so far, it seems very stable. |
Ok I took it out to the crag today. No major operating bugs, and it's fun to be able to tick climbs as I do them. |
Finally go a chance to use the new version out in the field yesterday. I didn't have any problems and all of the new features are awesome. |
Being able to download high resolution photos, bookmark specific pages and interact with one's profile are all great features. Well done! |
Incredible! Absolutely great app! We've been able to use it every week and it has been so incredibly helpful. Having the up to date pictures at the climb instead of carrying a book around is great! |
+1 on the suggestions to let climbers use the GPS functions in their phone to tag the location of the start of the route (and let admins override / change those tags). |
It seems that everytime I update I lose photos. I was climbing today and even though I'd downloaded the photos again, I was prompted that I was out of service and couldn't view them... has anyone else had problems? |
Unable to install on iOS 5. Possible reason for delay in approval? |
I just downloaded the app, subscribed, and am downloading the Boulder areas currently. I can't wait to use it in the field. |
I just downloaded the version from the App Store and subscribed to data. It looks great. I have one small bug to point out. It looks like some of the characters are being lost in either the download or the on screen presentation (maybe a unicode issue). Check out the "A Temporary Note" section of the New York > Gunks > Trapps Bouldering page here: mountainproject.com/v/trapp… . It looks like it is losing the apostrophes. I do see apostrophes on other pages however. I'm guessing that it is due to the text in question being pasted from MS Word rather than directly entered. I think that they substitute an appropriate single quote character (which points the correct way) rather than the generic one. My guess is that the same will happen with double quotes. |
Also just downloaded and subscribed to the app. Looks awesome! |
Just downloaded. Thanks administrators for your hard work. Psyched to finally have this. |
