This fixed instillation does nothing but promote laziness and dangerous climbing practices. For what? to lessen crowding( one more climber sleeping is one less climber climbing). This offends my personal climbing ethics. Somebody please call M.G. to have it removed.

Indeed, I am highly ashamed to have promoted such reckless and unethical fixed-gear practices when I uploaded this picture in 2011. Opponents have criticized the hammock, noting that it was likely too comfortable for the average sport climber (it was...), and agreed that fixing any more nylon products to the cliff would only exploit the inherent commercialism of the sport. I award myself zero points, and may god have mercy on my soul.

That's just great. Made my day. Sometimes we climbers take ourselves too seriously. I once did a tyrolean traverse from one buttress to another on Cathedral Ledge. Hanging out halfway 300 feet off the ground was awesome. (Shortly thereafter the cops showed up...not quite as awesome, although hysterical.)
