Memorial day weekend in Portland--where to go?

The GF has a very rare gap in her work schedule--a four day weekend--over the memorial day holiday. We're trying to figure out where to go. Originally we'd planned on City of Rocks but I have a feeling that's going to be hopelessly crowded and possibly super hot. I'd love to check out Lover's Leap but I have the same fear of crowds there.

I'm guessing there's no good answer to this question, but does anyone know of a place within a 12 hour drive of Portland that won't be insanely hot or crowded over the long holiday weekend? Maybe this is just what we get for trying to climb on a holiday weekend, and I'm prepared to accept that. But I figured I'd ask around first ;)

might try leavenworth- the slide by 8mile campground could reduce the crowds further up the canyon.

Squamish.

There are lots of places that won't be crowded within 12hours of Portland. Tieton and Banks lake come to mind. The two best climbing areas are probably Smith and Squamish. Squamish might not be that crowded because it is still early in the season, check the weather....

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
