I have now seen a couple of your shots from the Eastside that have dark foreground, a streak of light in the middle ground, dark in the background, and sunlit mountains in the far background. The light on the Eastside can be great for getting shot like that. Your photo reminds me of this Ansel shot near Lone Pine:
