Resole time?

This is my first pair of rock shoes and since they stretched a bit I relegated them to gym and loaner use to my brother who's feet are just a bit larger than mine. He has roped up like 2-3 times only and has much worse footwork than me (yeah, I'm still learning but started better off than his). I think these both got worn through during a day of his following on some Alabama Hills slabs, as I never saw them as even being thin before that trip.
Anyways just wanted to see if these need a resole now or if they can be climbed on a bit longer before rand damage happens. I just don't have any idea on when a shoe is in need of a resole, yet.
thanks

Looks like they're ready for some half-soles. Wait too long and they can't be resoled (my understanding). The Rubber Room in Bishop does a good job.

They need to be resoled in my opinion, and may already be damaged. I cannot tell if the toe is worn thin in one spot or if it is just a chalk mark, but you may need new toe caps as well. I would have resoled much earlier, but I resole my shoes many times and do not want them to get damaged.

If your brother likes the shoes, I would have them resoled... if neither of you like them too much since they are too large, then perhaps it isn't worth the effort, in which case you can climb on them until they are useless and just throw them out.

I would resole them as well. It will give the shoes longer life in the long run. I recommend Rock and Resole in Boulder, CO.

Well, I'll be mailing them off to Yosemite Bum ($10 off through 4/30) as they'd be worth keeping around for long stuff, gym and loaners.
That is chalk spot in the 2nd pic. I don't think they've worn through anywhere, and soles should be only required, I hope.

Definitely resole time, They might need a rand job as well as it's very exposed and might be warn thin. I just got 3 pairs of shoes back from YosemiteBum at the beginning of the week, two of them got rand jobs. I haven't got to climb on them yet, but the quality of the work looks awesome.

+10 for Yosemite Bum!
