Roll-Up Trad Rack Organizer
|
I was thinking of making some sort of roll-up gear organizer. Sort of a rectangle, maybe 4 feet wide and 16 inches high or so, with daisy chains or similar top and bottom, so that gear can be rolled up, and maybe a buckle to hold it rolled up and a shoulder strap or something. Does anybody have any kind of experience with something similar? Or an existing product I can repurpose / modify? I think it would be great for a place like josh. |

Do you mean something like what people use to store ice screws? outdoorresearch.com/site/sc… |

For carrying during the approach, or for transport from home to crag?
I am a huge fan of a rubbermaid bin with gear loops on the inside and outside. Gear loops = drilled holes & accesory cord! The rubbermaid bin is also a greta place to store your never-ending supply of gear company stickers! |

i made one... i need to get some pics up. I spent about $20 on materials, its made of cordura. THe best part is if you rig it that you can clip it around a tree and have your gear right there! |

The rubbermaid bins are my main storage now, but I have several over the shoulder gear slings that I load up with a certain range of cams, nuts, hexes, etc. to just pile in the bin. I pull out one that has 20 quickdraws on it for sport, or another with less than 1 inch cams for small crack leads. About 5 big bins full so far. ( I gotta stop buying gear) |

Mountain Tools makes a lot of soft goods for climbing and I'd checked out their catalogue a while back. I'm actually a fan of their webollette concept. I've never used any of the rolls, they are a bit pricey, and I'm more of a disorganized guy anyway. |
