Minnehaha Falls

Does anyone know the legality of climbing at Minnehaha Falls? I have found multiple sources saying it is "probably illegal". Another says that people have been taken away in handcuffs for climbing there.

Does anyone know for sure?

I climbed there with a friend this year, and a cop walked by us and looked for a minute or two, gave a thumbs up and left. I don't know about the technical legalities of it though, so be careful! Possibly climb it at night by headlamp.

Have you been down there lately? How is the ice? It's been so warm in the cities the past week I'm curious how the ice is holding up.

Yes, There is a Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis.

I climbed there on tues. Was planning on climbing at the Franklin bridge but it was in sad shape. The ice was in good shape at the falls yet. We climbed at night, the whole falls is illuminated by flood lights.

I would like to know the *actual* legal status of climbing it. The horror stories have always kept us away. Research needed...
