Christmas present ideas for Spouse/Significant Other

I am having a tough time figuring out what to get for my wife this Christmas season and I am desperate enough to turn to MP for suggestions.

We have all the climbing gear that we need. She has her own snowboard. I try to buy her clothes, but that is really tough because she would rather shop herself. I may do the gift cert route, but it is fun to open a real gift on Christmas.

Any thoughts?

did you look on adam and eve dot com??? NSFW btw

As for outdoorsy stuff. You could always pick up some earings with climbers on them. Or if she likes beer then get pint glasses with some summits on them. Or get her a puppy?

You might try sundancecatalog dot com, they've got some unique items, jewelry, household stuff, clothing and their gifts are organized by prices. I asked my hubby for one of their big 20oz mugs with my initial as I really enjoy my morning coffee. Their are a couple of well-priced jewelry boxes and lots of cute earrings that are reasonably priced.

I know you mentioned no clothes but I really like the patagonia nano puff pullover or jacket my husband got me last Christmas because it is a great layer for climbing or skiing or a light jacket for slightly cooler weather. I also love wearing fleece vest because it keep me warm in our cold house!

Something sexy, I love patagonia underwear...woohoo!

For climbing, I love climbing videos and there is always a new one out. It is a great present for the both of us.

I am trying to get into snowboarding so I suggested a lesson.

Oh yeah, donate to the Access fund in her name. They have great holiday pacs but I think they are sold out. You can check it out on the link below.

I thought of another item....down booties. Great for lounging or keeping feet warm in a sleeping bag.

A really nice down jacket from Feathered Friends or Western Mountaineering.

Nothing says love more than warmth........

And lightweight...

patagonia alpine guide pants are saweet. might be getting the lady a pair of those. not that im opposed to all of the spandexy tights she wears; just pants are a bit more durable and warmer y'know.

i guess this falls under the gift cert, as opposed to a real gift - but maybe a gift certificate to get a massage? i'm kind of in the same boat, my wife has 3 of everything, doesn't like jewelry, doesn't wear makeup, etc. the massage gift usually works pretty well.

A bit of a shameless plug, but these are some pretty nice, and climbing related greeting cards that might go well with whatever you end up getting her: Climbing Cards

Awesome suggestions!

Actually I'm +3 on the down booties. Also some comfy lounge-around pants. I found some nice Kavu ones on SAC, which were received extremely well, so she's getting a second pair for Christmas.

From a girl's perspective - get her something romantic. And no, pink down booties don't count. Jewelry (doesn't have to be expensive), a massage, spa time, dinner for two...

This is a great time to remind her that, although she's your climbing/snowboarding partner, etc., she's also the girl you love.

Edit: Just noticed that you're in Flag. Go to Zani, next to Biff's Bagels. They've got some really cute, unique, reasonably priced jewelry and other fun stuff.

There is a climber who posts on Supertopo as "Justthemaid" who makes VERY cool handmade jewelry and stained glass artwork. You can see her stuff at etsy.com/shop/mouchette . All the stuff is one-of-a-kind and, IMHO, totally cool.

Next time overseas Will, think ahead and get her something cheap and cool from the locals. I know that doesn't help for this year though!

I know you said she had all the gear for climbing and snowboarding, but does she have any of those:

1. Petzl Nomics
2. Prior Khyber splitboard
3. Patagonia Stretch Element Bibs
4. Cilogear pack?

Forget about stupid tchotchkes such as jewelry - because if she climbs often enough it will be sitting in jewelry box most of the time. Although, I'd love me a Suunto Lumi watch...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
