We hiked-down perhaps 50’ off the summit, then dropped a knee. Great snow.

We circumnavigated Blue Lake by going “looker’s right” to reach the base of Mt Toll (background). We skinned-up most of the way, and then boot-packed on the final push to the summit.
The snow was too soft (and was just dirt near the Brian Mitchell trailhead) that we had to hike-out (versus skinning).

Circumnavigating Blue Lake (11,355')
Mount Toll’s (12,979’) coned peak rises prominently above all others. (Skier tracks in the middle left of the photo.)
We greeted the marmots on the summit, then had a super fun ski back to Blue Lake.
