LOOKING TO POSSIBLY TAKE A JOB ASSIGNMENT IN NEW MEXICO (ALBUQUERQUE, SANTA FE, TAOS??) FOR THE MONTHS OF NOVEMBER-MARCH. WAS WONDERING IF SOMEONE CAN COMMENT ON THE CLIMBING IN THE AREA THIS TIME OF YEAR IN REGARDS TO WEATHER, TEMPS, ETC. LOOKING TO BOTH SPORT CLIMB AND TRAD CLIMB. SINGLE PITCH AND MULTI-PITCH. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
If you end up in the Santa Fe/Taos area during those months then white rock might be one of your best bets for both trad and sport single pitch. it is generally warm enough mid afternoon and more or less south facing depending on which crag you are at. Taos also has quite a few crags in the rio grande gorge that may get good sun during the winter months, but I have less personal experience there.
Take the assignment. Winter in NM is great. You'll be hard pressed to find much, if any, multipitch opportunities in winter in northern NM but there are plenty of areas along the Rio Grande Gorge that are quite comfortable for climbing in winter unless a big storm is passing through or has just passed through.
Check out all the White Rock areas, Diablo Canyon outside of Santa Fe and the Taos area crags like Utopian Vistas and Vista Verde.
The Winter Wall at Diablo Canyon has a couple of multipitch sport routes.
