Just spent a week on Block Island w/ family and friends and had 5 days of good, fun waves from TS Colin. Also went free diving spear fishing for Stripers on a drift dive off of Black Rock. Excellent trip!

hey, you ever surf Irma's over by Sandy's on Oahu? I've been hitting that one the last couple days (small waves) but I want to know how that thing gets in big waves. It's a real heavy break.

That sounds like an ideal week Eastvillage!
Pat I have never surfed Lama's. If you got some waves there in the last week you are very fortunant! We haven't had anything here on Maui in over a week. I got a couple of head high glassy days on the west side about 10 days ago. One of the days I surfed alone for over an hour head high glass and then was joined by two friends for the remander of my sesh. That's about all that I have to report surf wise. Windsurfing on the other hand has been a blast. The wind has been real strong creating some sweet wind swell to smack! The waves don't have much power but they can get some size and they are real frequent so you get a lot of waves in the sesh. There haven't been any crowds ether. I have sailed every day for a long time now and it has been delightful! Warm clear water,lots of sea life,waves,and wind till dark.
Has any body else been getting out this summer? Post up and keep this thread alive !
O yeah, the wave bash was a blast!

Dawn patrol at Grandma's, 3hours work, 2hours surfing at Woody's, rolling late lunch, late afternoon wind surf sesh, beers with the bros at the cross roads of the universe, and dinner at our nest. Not a bad day.IMHO

Nice Olaf ;)

Not much to report here, cept...
Just got back from a long weekend in the Valley ;)

My young gun, bruddah 'Luke to Zuke' is on the plane back to Anchorage.
Little (6'3") bastid dragged me up.. hmm let's see...
2- pitches of 10.d
1 10.b
3 10.a's
1 5.9

Nothing for the young buck, but I
(like a fool)
hadn't even done so much as a chin up in almost a month.
(snicker..)

My tricep's are worked
but it hurts so good ;)

Check out my girlfriend Karen Lang's web site it entirely about kite surfing but it has a tremendous amount of info that crosses over to both surfing and wave sailing.

That's a beaut of a shot.

Going left at Jaws?

Outside Log Cabins or Avalanche on a massive day?

Left at Jaws.

We are in the middle of our first N/W swell of the season. I managed to score a few waves after work yesterday. Maybe I can make it again today.

North shores - The high surf advisory level waves from the north-northwest…will be dropping some Monday. A new impulse of northerly or NNW swell will bring the surf back again quickly early Tuesday morning…lowering later Wednesday into Thursday. Meanwhile, a new west-northwest swell will arrive mid-week into Friday. A new northwest/NNW swell will keep things going Friday into next weekend. Lots of surfing this week!

I was blessed with two of the best waves of the new season yesterday!
I paddled into a head and a half right at Kanaha that took me through three sections with out even trying to close out on me.
Then later in the day I launched my wind surfer at Kuau and sailed in double mast high conditions. It looks like it's game on around here!

Nice, that wave at Kanaha...
Going right from the peak near the channel at the upwind end of the break?

~~~~~~~~~
I knew a guy who snorkeled the Kanaha reef when it was flat and found a running, orange faced Rolex.
