Shady Climbing in Boulder Canyon without using a Tyrolean

Does anybody know any good shady spots in Bo-can that doesn't require using a Tyrolean while the water is so high? I just got a new puppy and am trying to bring her with me.

If it comes down to it, I suppose I could throw her in a duffel bag (she's about 35 lbs) and get her across that way, but I would like to avoid that..

I haven't been there for a while, but my recollection is that Nip and Tuck are pretty shady.

Mine shaft (dump) and surrounding areas are west facing, so the mornings are shady.

35 lbs would be pretty tough to toss across boulder creek right now, even in a duffel bag. Maybe try some stuff up in upper dream canyon? You can find a crag facing pretty much any direction. And its usually pretty cool down by the creek.

I agree, but with two people it could be done, with one person grabbing each end, then the old 1....2...3!
But if it doesnt make it, that cold be bad...puppies are fairly cheap though.

How about using a trebuchet?

The Elephant Buttresses stay in the shade until around 1:30 or 2 in the afternoon.
Easy for puppy to walk to. Just be aware that even though the poison ivy is easy for humans to avoid, many dogs walk right through it and you can get it from their hair.

Castle Rock has shade. There are some small cliffs over by Castle that stay in the shade all day. The routes are mixed, sport and trad but of good quality.

Awesome...
I dont have a puppy, but I have three cats and I think this would be a good addition to our place. I am going to put it next to the bed so that in the morning I can really get my point across.
