Fixed Hardware Replacement Program in Eldo

ACE, BCC (Boulder Climbing Community), and Eldorado State Park are working together to replace old fixed hardware in Eldorado Canyon. A 'like for like' hardware replacement policy already exists, so what we need now is a way to track progress and get some much needed work done.

ACE has established a working database of hardware which is in need of replacement. That working list is available here.

www.aceeldo.org/fhrc/like_for_like.php

Everyone is invited to contribute to this list so we all can be made aware of the fixed hardware progress and priorities. Just register on the ACE website and contribute to the list. Its fast and easy.

What is needed now is community involvement - stay tuned for updates from the BCC. We will plan community events targeted at replacing hardware in specific areas of Eldorado. Climbers can gather, learn about hardware replacement, get some work done, and meet other climbers in the process.

As a reminder, a permit for 'like for like' replacement must be secured from the Park Headquarters prior to completing any work.

ACE will gladly supply the drill, bits, prybars and any necessary hardware to anyone wishing to do like-for-like replacements in ECSP. Contact aceeldo@googlegroups.com

With everything that has been happening in Eldo lately, I would think the "news" page would be updated more recently then May 16th. It doesn't look like they maintain the site very well.

John,

I don't post information about accidents as they are often posted up first in the forums before I hear about them. I work full time and don't have the time during business hours to be logged onto the site updating it all the time.

If you have any news items please email me and I'll get them up on the site. There is a lot more to maintaing the site that just adding news items.

Cheers
