Hi everyone,

I'm new to the Central Wisconsin area and will only be here a short while, and was really hoping to get some bouldering in at Rib Mountain. But, to my dismay, they closed it to climbing... kinda (they still allow 'scrambling'). I was wondering if I visited Rib Mountain, how much bouldering I would be able to get away with before anybody notices or says anything to me? It would be me and at maximum two other people, with only one crash pad. Thanks!

Chris, I think we all know that mostly only climbers frequent this website and that the reality of the situation might be able to be expressed "publicly" with out upsetting the authorities.

Personally, I'm unsure of the reality of the situation at Rib but from what I've heard it's a no go and you will get a ticket.

Find Seth Carlson, he will know and I would say it would be up to him if he wants the "reality" posted here.

Alright, well nevermind to that question. And thanks, I'll see if I can get in touch with Seth. follow up question:

Any other good bouldering areas in the vicinity of Stevens Point? (closer than Devil's Lake, which is an hour and a half away or so)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
