Bzzzzzzzz, try again. There are seven towers in this picture, 8 if you count the nubbin at the foot of Grand View. I'll buy a six pack for the one who names them all.
One 6 pack of Fat Tire coming up. Damn, Paul, stole my thunder. I should have known you would be lurking out there somewhere, hehehe. I was hoping to have a bit more fun with that. I got your back next time we hook up.
I know, we should probably change that. Problem is we do not know the true name of the tower you linked. I posted that one several years ago, and to be fair it is what the original Desert Rock and DR III have labeled as Egypt Rock. However, when Paul and I got to the top of the True Egypt Rock last fall, we opened the summit register to find that all the guides have been wrong this whole time. I think those ones way down there across the canyon are called "Knob Rock" and something else. The original Dyson topo I got from Stu Green for "Knob Rock" follows the aid line Paul and I freed on Egypt Rock so when we were getting on it we thought that we were climbing "Knob Rock", but there were only two signatures in the summit register since 1963' and at that time on the summit Dyson, Kuglin, etc. called it "Egypt Rock". Carter climbed the independent outside spire four years later and called it "Pharaoh Point" and made mention of it in the summit register when he did the second ascent of the "Egypt Rock". The proof was in the pudding so to speak.
Sorry to ruin your fun! Have you been up Pharaoh Point yet? If not, let's get on that soon.
Skyeler, Airport Tower is the big, wide tower behind Kissing Couple, it's kind of hard to make out in the picture, but it is pretty easy to make out from the rim. Rainbow Tower is the next major tower up canyon from Egpyt Rock.
