Anti-Grav Harness!!!

The idea came from an episode of ST:TNG. Wouldn't it be awesome if in the future we all had anti-gravity harnesses?!?!?!!!

No more ropes! No more gear! Everyone just free solos with their anti-grav harnesses on. If you fall, the harness itself arrests the fall by actuating the anti-grav stablizers! Just be sure the power cells for your harness are fully charged before each climb! ;-)

why not just get Spock to fly down to catch you ala that video that the next person below me will post

What would then be the point of climbing? I like to scare myself. Having control of your fears is generally what makes it entertaining to climb "desperates". I know already someone will have a smart reply...Would be fun however to not have a rope in the way..

Working on an early prototype right now: attaching a dozen Estes model rocket engines to my harness, with a quick ignition that will multi fire all of them. thus slow my fall enough for a soft touchdown, and save my sorry ass. Just worried about the engine burn down my legs. Capt. Kirk would be proud of us all.
