Joey Kinder uses it. I was talking to him the other day about bolting and he couldn't get enough of it. He posted this review-ish thing too. Check the comments for most of the content. review-ish thing

That drill only comes with one SlimPack battery. I would want two FatPack batteries if it were me...

I am also interested in how well this drill works compared to the full size 11536vsr.

Excellent drill, the chisel mode wears on the batteries pretty bad though. I get about 10 notched out glue in bolts per charge in granite.

I'll be trying it on some traprock soon, I hear that stuff is a bitch to drill.

i still think a modified drill with remote supercharged batteries is the way to go.

This is the cats' meow.. I can get about 10-12 bolts per charge. Also, check CPO tools for their reconditioned stuff.

This drill is the shit.
Super light, 10-12 holes per battery in hard, hard granite.
I wouldn't waste time modifying any other drill,
this ones got the whole package.

I Get between 25-35 4"x3/8" out of one slim pack in Granite. It's light, charges fast, and will drill a hole in about 45 seconds. For the price I would recommend it. I have used a corded Bulldog for building a deck at a buddy's house, drilling granite boulders and old concrete. This little cordless can hang!

If you plan on developing an area this drill is a good choice(Buy a second batt.), for small lead-bolting projects I still use a "ROC-PEC" hand drill. Happy shopping.

There is no chisel mode on the compact. Do you have the 11536vsr? (full size)

Having used Darrens mod compared to my Bosch, there is no comparison. The modification does increase the battery weight, but you will never have that weight any where near you. Sure the Bosch can get 20+ holes, but imagine getting 40 holes, over the coarse of 2 months, on 1 charge and still have 20+ left. Lead drilling with your batteries 30ft from you is pretty sweet.

If I had my choice again, I would of saved some cash by modifying a light, hard hitting drill.

But if your planning on light usage, get a Bosch their light and very durable.

I'll have to let you know. I've been thinking about buying one for a while now and finally decided to order it today. Thanks for the motivation!

Where are you ordering from? 1 or 2 batteries?

I ended up buying the new one from CPO with one battery. I bought an extra FatPack battery from Amazon for $85+shipping. If the savings were a little more that $20 I would have bought the reconditioned drill... To the sounds of the reviews, I may not even need the extra battery I bought. But you can never have too much power and the price was good so I got it.
I paid about $445 total. Go ahead and post up / make me feel bad if you find a better deal.

Sounds what I want. Post up a review after you use it for a little while.

Will do. This pic sold it for me:

That mod wiledhorse has sounds real sweet.

I'm just lazy and
A. am scared I would ruin the drill trying to modify
(i'm not really skilled doing anything besides climbing and playing with computers)
B. that little slim pack battery weighs less than the hammer
C. If I drill more than 10 holes in a day, its very unusual.

Have you tried that new drill out yet?

I just got it a week ago. I did take it out and use it Saturday. Let me start by saying; It is supper light with the standard slim-pack battery! You can feel the weight difference if you put the Fat-pack on, but still totally manageable and lighter that probably any other rotary hammer drill out there (with battery). I've only drilled a handful of holes with it so far, in limestone, each hole drilled pretty quick IMO. I did grab a really tuff river rock to see how it would handle in some harder stone. I got about an inch and a half in and progress slowed so I stopped, didn't want to ruin a good bit... But that chuck of rock was REALLY TUFF! I look forward to seeing how it handles in different types of rock, but so far I am really pleased with it. I am totally happy with the purchase so far! I'm pretty sure it will do the job I need it to. My buddy has the annihilator and he is pretty jealous of my drill, he wants to get one...
Oh, and the batteries are bad ass!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
