Alain Henault rappelling Kraus-Weissener, August, 1974.

Bit snowy, eh? We had to wait out a week of bad weather and were getting kind of desperate for success.

Alain Henault, 1974, rolling up a quick smoke on the summit of Snowpatch Spire. He and his wife had been zapped the day before on North Howser and we only stayed a few minutes.

I should have smoked a cig too. The first rap anchor was an easily portable flake laid across the top of the crux chimney on Kraus-McCarthy.

The rack in back was completely nuts too!
