| Nice picture. I have a lot of respect for Chris Bonnington; however, I thought that it would be worth noting that I climbed this route with Monika Eldridge in September of 2000. She'd talked once of wanting to be in a guidebook, so maybe this will have to do. It was our last big climb together before her untimely death in Yosemite the following year. I'd done several climbs with her in the Black Canyon and, thrashing through thick brush to exit the route, she vowed never to return.... Sadly, this turned out to be the case. She was a warm person who loved the wilds and loved the Black Canyon. Climbing this route with its phenomenal views is a good way for me to remember her. The climbing is certainly nothing special but the position... maybe the best in all of Colorado. |
