Are you sure that the two shadows are from two peaks? They seem to have the same shape but a different tint.

It is almost like the two shadows are from the same peak, but the darker one is projected on dust in the air, the lighter one is further back, projected on the ground. It would be lighter due to scattered skylight. I've never seen anything like it, so am making a wild guess.

Yes, I am sure. Kind of hard to miss a gigantic peak like Fitzroy right next you.
