This is the setup that I routinely use when I have built a top-rope anchor that is extended some distance over an edge and I need to rappel that route.  I, in effect, rappel a separate strand of rope (using the munter) to get to the extended masterpoint.  I pre-rig the rappel on the actual climbing rope, before I begin descending with the munter.
